This is a cooperation project with AKA CAFE (Chengdu, China). This cafe has suffered two floods. Inspirited by this experience I created an imaginary flood world. What are “Linxi’s” floods? Who will survive during this flood? I gathered a lot of friends, and we painted repeatedly drawn of mine every day together for a week, and I used those paintings to cover the area in the cafe that had been covered by the flood. Then I collected a lot of clothes, blankets, and other used domestic fabrics from my family, and made 10 dolls out of these fabrics. Each doll is her imagination of her family.

During the opening ceremony, I did a live performance. Two bamboo stools were placed in the center. I and the audience sat back to back on the bamboo stools, and we looked at each other through the mobile phone video on the phone holder in front of us. The audience can participate and leave freely. During the creation and exhibition of this project, there were many connected, tender moments contrasting the fear of disaster.

It’s also a collaboration that I worked as curator, artist, and organizer of events at the same time.
